Hirschfeld to Play Second Reserve Game for Portsmouth

CALGARY, Alberta – Calgary Storm goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld will likely play one half of the Pompey reserve game at Brentford’s Griffin Park today. Hirschfeld is in the latter stages of a trial period with English first division club Portsmouth.

"Lars will conclude his trial with Portsmouth with another appearance in a reserve game," says Thomas Niendorf, Calgary Storm Head Coach and Technical Director. "This will give him another opportunity to display his abilities."

Hirschfeld will most likely share duties with signed Japanese keeper Yoshi Kawaguchi. Both international goalkeepers are expected to appear in goal at some stage of the game at Brentford – possibly playing one half each.

A week ago, Hirschfeld had an impressive debut at Portsmouth helping the reserves win 1-0 against Reading and maintaining their top spot in the Avon Insurance Combination League.
